RESOLUTION: TO HONOR ALL
FORMER ASSOCIATION OFFICERS

NOVEMBER 16, 2007

WHEREAS, the AACTE has a 20 year history of hosting a joint professional development conference; and

WHEREAS, the AACTE has a long and rich history as being a statewide advocate for career and technical education, and

WHEREAS, the former officers of AACTE have contributed great personal time and effort to the growth and development of our professional association, and

WHEREAS, we the membership recognize their contributions, years of dedication and sacrifice,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, on the occasion of this 20 th joint professional development conference, that all former AACTE officers be recognized, and

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that such recognition result in the creation of an honorary society known as SHROO, which stands for the Society of Honorary and Recognized Old Officers, and

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all former officers in attendance at today’s conference become founding SHROO members and proudly display their SHROO lapel buttons.

Tech Prep Resolution (October 13, 2006)

Resolution: Maintain Separate Tech Prep Funding in Alaska under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006


WHEREAS separate Tech Prep funding has allowed for development of a statewide Tech Prep consortium which has brought together partners to develop new agreements, provided staff to serve as liaisons to partner institutions, provided tech prep student grants, provided distance tech prep projects, and provided professional development

WHEREAS Tech Prep programming can help expand the career and technical education programs at the secondary and postsecondary level

WHEREAS partnerships like those developed through Tech Prep will be required under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006


BE IT RESOLVED that AACTE advocate for maintaining separate Tech Prep funds in Alaska under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006.
